Morphy at the odds of his Queen's Rook against an amateur — a Two Knights' Opening in which Black's King is hunted up the board and mated by castling. Notes by Löwenthal.

1. 8…Nd4 The move generally selected here is Kt. to K's 2nd.
2. 15.Qg4+ Forcing the game in a very few moves. The position is interesting, and we therefore give a diagram of it previously to this move being made.
3. 17…Kxc1 K. to Kt's 8th would have somewhat prolonged the game, but nothing could have saved it.
