These Terms of Service govern your use of Andromeda, a personal chess site operated by Christian J. Walls. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
◇ 1 · Accounts
You must be old enough to use Andromeda: at least 16, or at least 13 if you are in the United States, consistent with the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password secure. Use a valid email address you control so Andromeda can send account, security, and policy notices. Andromeda may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the site.
◇ 2 · User Content
If you import PGNs, create collections, or save account data, you remain responsible for what you submit. Do not upload content that you do not have the right to use, and do not use imported games to publish private, unlawful, abusive, or harmful material. Andromeda may remove user-submitted content that violates these terms or creates operational risk.
◇ 3 · Acceptable Use
- Do not try to access accounts, systems, or data that are not yours.
- Do not probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the site beyond ordinary browsing and documented API use.
- Do not submit malware, exploit payloads, spam, or misleading account information.
- Do not use Andromeda for unlawful activity or to violate another person's rights.
◇ 4 · Chess Data And Features
Andromeda provides chess archives, search, analysis tools, imported-game storage, bookmarks, and collections as a study resource. Database entries, engine evaluations, opening names, statistics, and imported-game parsing may contain mistakes. You should verify anything important independently.
◇ 5 · Privacy And Email Notices
How Andromeda handles your personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy. We may email you for account and security reasons — password resets, email verification, and notices about material changes to these terms or the Privacy Policy. If you explicitly confirm a cast-remote coach email, Andromeda may send the studied-game list you marked to the coach email address you provide.
◇ 6 · Availability
Andromeda is a personal project. It may change, pause, or go offline at any time without notice, and features may be added, changed, or removed as the project evolves.
◇ 7 · No Warranty
Andromeda is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site.
◇ 8 · Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. When they change, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Material changes may also be announced by email or through the site.
◇ 9 · Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent permitted by law, disputes relating to Andromeda or these terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Indiana. Nothing here removes data-protection or consumer rights that the law of your own country or state grants you and does not allow you to waive.
